Welcome

This page is created for Akemi [pronounced a-shah-mai] , a young girl with a hugely supportive family, helping her through her ongoing treatment and recovery of an inoperable brain cancer. Akemi - and her mum Christina - have been working with Arran Graphics to create a unique fundraising idea which directly involves Akemi's input for every order. Akemi's participation in this project helps to give her something fun to distract her from her daily routine which can often be difficult. You can find out more about Akemi on her facebook page (link is top right), but exactly why Arran Graphics is involved is mentioned below.
If you're returning here just to buy one of Akemi's product packages, simply scroll down to the product lists.
Arran Graphics' involvement
As part of my company's 30th anniversary, I wanted a project or two which felt a little more personal to me, using experienced gained in design and print production over the last three decades.
After coming across Akemi's page on Facebook, I contacted Christina, Akemi's mum, in March 2026 and things were put in place. The objectives were two-fold. Fundraising is all very well but in this day and age, people often prefer to have something tangible in return for their donations. We have accomplished that by directly involving Akemi - and she welcomed the opportunity, despite physical barriers that preclude her from other activities.
Akemi's facebook page mentions the word "Headstrong" which is how her mum describes her daughter (and how many of us, as followers, would describe her mum, too!). So we made it a brand name with a logo (note the 'brain' element) and this was chosen by Akemi herself. It was easy to create a small product range based on that. The unique idea to get Akemi to write/draw/paint a thank you card for each order was readily taken up, so the idea was quickly implemented over a matter of weeks.
"So, where does the money go?"
Indeed, this is important to note. From each sale, Arran Graphics pays its suppliers (embroiderers, printing companies and Royal Mail). We get no special concessions or benefits for using these companies. Arran Graphics' aim is to make zero profit on this project, so the remaining amount - usually around 35 - 50% - is directly transferred to Christina, Akemi's mum. The family receives a quarterly summary of orders with the costs listed. This is important to me as much as it should be to them. Each product or package therefore generates a donation for the family, to help with whatever Akemi needs. Fundamentally, there is the desire to involve Akemi with the process and this was important to all concerned.
"Is there more I can do?"
Yes, of course. You can spread the word on social media and you can also follow Akemi's facebook page and consider subscribing, merely to offer a small donation every month. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61576752784744
"What's in the packages?"
Along with your chosen item - whether it's a beautifully embroidered baseball cap, accessory bag; or a mug and coaster set etc... - , there are a couple of little extras including a notepad, a fridge magnet and Akemi's unique 'thank you' card which is a one-off creation by this amazing young girl. We can't ask Akemi to personalise the cards for you specifically, due to the time/distances involved, but please understand that each card is quite a task for Akemi and she does them in small batches when she is able; then sends them 200 miles to Arran for inclusion with your order. Cards are therefore selected at random, which is part of the fun! Each item ordered is, therefore, really a mini hamper in itself because of the small additions we have added to make it special.
"Let's Do It!"
Great! Some items are available to be sent worldwide, others have to remain as "UK only" due to their fragile nature or postal restraints. Full details on each item are available below. There is a currency converter at the top of the page.
Please note that Akemis stock is very limited until we know what kind of feedback this venture will generate. Whilst we intend to post your order within 48 hours, you should allow, in all cases, at least 21 days for delivery. This also allows Akemi some time to generate her cards. I Thank you for your understanding.
