What do graphic designers do at night?

Aside from watching M*A*S*H on some nondescript channel somewhere in the '50's on the remote, I personally love to play in Photoshop. Bladerunner is one of my ultimate favourite movies and to now be able to use a touch of Ai and some experience in Photoshop, images often naturally lean towards the movie for inspiration.

This image was great fun to work on. It's now listed in the shop's 'digital and Ai' department as it can be printed up to 2m wide! There are countless layers here - a layer being a different image or graphic, all blended to give the depth and feel of where I wanted to go with this. My favourite bit is the projected woman on the side of a building, which took some effort to 'get right' but hopefully emulates the original movies' look and feel. I wonder what Syd Mead, who did much of the background imagery for the movie, would think today. Look him up - his work was decades ahead of its time.
